In 1989-1996 led the director's workshop at the Belarusian Academy of Arts (professor). In 1976-1981, he was the first secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the Belarusian SSR. Academician of the World Academy of Slavic Art. Member of the CPSU since 1977. During his short creative life, Viktor Turov made 26 films that represent the golden fund of Belarusian cinema. Many of them have been awarded the most prestigious film festivals. The name of the film director is included by UNESCO among the 50 best directors in the history of cinema. Victor Turov died on October 31, 1996. Акадэмік Сусветнай акадэміі славянскага мастацтва. Член КПСС з 1977 года. За сваё кароткае творчае жыццё Віктар Тураў зняў 26 фільмаў, якія ўяўляюць залаты фонд беларускага кіно. Многія з іх адзначаны ўзнагародамі самых прэстыжных кінафэстаў. Імя кінарэжысёра ўключана ЮНЕСКА ў лік 50 лепшых рэжысёраў за ўсю гісторыю кінематографа. Віктар Тураў памёр 31 кастрычніка 1996 года.
